The MIT Media Lab is a six-floor structure with approximately 163,000 SF of laboratory, office, and meeting space. Aiming to ignite a new energy to sponsors and the world at large, the complex opened in 2009 and is a showcase for new concepts in design, communication systems, and collaborative research.
Designed by Fumihiko Maki, the MIT Media Lab houses a Visual Arts Center, the School of Architecture and Planning, and a program in Comparative Media studies.
